Welcome to Somerville Hockey Club
Somerville Hockey Club was founded by Mr Lesley Howard Norton in 1915 and became an Incorporated Society in 1972. Today the Club has in excess of 600 members - 45 teams of men, women, boys and girls, playing across all grades in the AHA competition. Our homebase is located at Auckland Grammar School turf in Mt Eden, on the Auckland city fringe with an international class water turf. Our premier mens and womens teams feature 12 current and past Blacksticks.

The annual Somerville vs Southern Derby Day was another roaring success for both clubs. This event is gaining popularity every year as participants are keen to hone their skills prior to the Premier Inter-city competition starting the following week. It also gives the match officials a warm up to challengers they face with time and player management in the season to come. Supporters from both clubs enjoyed the fantastic weather throughout the day.
Whilst the overall result ensured Somerville retained the Derby Day trophy the positives taken by both clubs should ensure successful seasons for both. Once again the event was hosted by Southern Districts whose club house facilities will be on the wish list of most Auckland clubs and a well earned Player of the Day sponsored beverage went to selected participants of all teams involved.
