SUMMER ATHLETICS

Lynndale Championships for junior members 

  • Held over two clubnights
  • Events are run on a straight 1st, 2nd and 3rd basis
  • Ribbons awarded on the day
  • Points awarded towards the tally for club trophies (see 'Prizegiving' below)


Athletics Auckland

Athletics Auckland hold competitions on most Saturdays and some Sundays during the season.  There is usually a small entry fee, though some events are free and the Club will subidise team events The club will promote these events to our members.

The Athletics Auckland junior track and field programme will be displayed on the club notice board, see www.athleticsauckland.co.nz

The club uniform and colgate patch must be worn at all times whilst competing for Grade 7 to 14yo.

Club uniform is red lynndale singlet and plain black shorts and the colgate patch sewn on upper LHS.

Children competing in Athletics Auckland events will be issued with a ‘Colgate’ competition age patch.  They can’t compete without it. Their registration number will be on this and needs to be sewn to the front of the shirt (top, left-hand breast/shoulder).

Prizegiving

The Club has a number of trophies within each age group that children compete for over the season:

  • Highest Track
  • Highest Field
  • Highest Overall
  • Sportsmanship


Trophies will be awarded as follows:

Highest Track, Field and Overall

These are awarded on accumulated points based on levels night performances, on Championship Day results, and on attendance.

  • 1st        three points
  • 2nd       two points
  • 3rd        one point


Please note that one attendance point is awarded for each club night.

Sportmanship

The athlete with the highest combined points for attendance and performance, if they have not already won another trophy, will receive the sportsmanship trophy.  This recognises children who show consistency across all events.

The points system allows for two absences over the season.
