MWBL Week 18 Results
In a huge weekend of results across the grades we have secured the A Grade Minor Premiership and also the U/17 Red Division Premiership!
In a hard fought and close contest the U/17 kids completed an undefeated season with a 4-2 win over Werribee! A detailed report will follow later in the week for his game. Whilst the 2nds controlled the game and booked a place in the Grand Final in a fortnight with a 6-4 win over GMBC!
Unfortunately the 3rds the season came to an end. Coach Craig Hutton had the following to say. "We lost a nail biter to Essendon after staking an early lead. They powered back to take the lead 10-7 and despite a big rally in the last came up short with the bases loaded. It was an ironic finish for us after Shannon D'Avoine started out as coach and we know he had his fair share of heartbreaks in 3's finals over the years as player and coach. We know we did him proud in a tough circumstances all round. We'll win one for you next year Shan!"
Meanwhile like silent assassin's the A Grade team rapped out a 3-1 win over North Balwyn and sealed top spot with Daniel McGrath leading the way with 15k's and two hits given up! Luke Utting also fantastic with two doubles!
