V8 Supercars

The growth of V8 Supercars in Australia is an incredible success story. The company behind the sports success is V8 Supercars Australia (V8SA) formerly AVESCO (Australian Vee Eight Supercar Company Pty Ltd), who manage, market and promote the V8 Supercar Series both locally and internationally.

V8SA was established as a joint venture company in 1997 combining Touring Car Entrants Group (TEGA) and Sports & Entertainment Limited (SEL).

V8 Supercars are powered by a 5L fuel injected V8 engine that exerts 620 horsepower at up to 7500 rpm. With a minimum weight of 1355kg, these V8 machines have a top speed of 300 km per hour and can go from 0 to 100 km per hour in four seconds.

This year the V8 Supercar Championship Series comprises 14 rounds, travelling abroad to New Zealand and Bharain.
