Last year we bought an electric-assist  tri-shaw for Araluen Retirement Village in Fisher to start a Cycling Without Age program – so residents can again feel the ‘wind in their hair’. Details here.

How the racing and betting works …

Race cardOn arrival you are given:Making bets

• A race card detailing the six races to be run during the evening. It shows the details of the horses (number, name, colours, form and odds)
• A wad of fun money

We showing the footage of actual races, each with eight runners. No one present knows the outcome of any of the races.

Our bookmakers take your bets on each race using your fun money. We accept win only (first place) bets.
You can bet on as many runners as you like, as many times as you like.

Last bets are called, the race is shown, and the winner and place getters declared. Then the bookmakers payout on winning bets.

Prizes are given to the biggest winners

              • On each race, the punter who won the most money on that race
              • On the night, the punter who has the most cash in hand at the end.

Horses racingThe 'Form' for each horse is the tipper's opinion of the runner and includes where it placed in its recent races.

The 'Odds' for each horse are those that bookmakers are offering for each runner.

Betting and winning:

  • Win bet -- that a horse will win the race: For example, if the odds are 7:1 and you bet $1,000 on a horse to win, and your horse wins, you win $7,000 and get your $1,000 stake back ($8,000 returned for $1,000 outlay).

If you run out of fun money, we have hardship table where you can try your luck.Click here to make a reservation
There is a prize for the best hard luck or saddest story.
