Umpires policy

Zone 14 National Umpires Policy Statement

This committee shall ensure that all clubs throughout the Zone have relevant information/updates on laws and knowledge of the most efficient equipment to develop a high standard of Best Practice Techniques.

This shall be achieved through:-        

  1. Act as directed by the RNSWBA Umpires Committee
  2. Promote an amicable fellowship amongst umpires, measures and markers.
  3. Ensure uniformity in the translation of laws and conditions of the game.
  4. Promote uniformity in tutor instructions and examinations of aspiring umpires, measurers and markers as directed by the Umpires Committee of Bowls Australia.
  5. Provide tutors and examiners for aspiring umpires, measurers and markers.
  6. Promote among Zone officials, an awareness of the functions and responsibilities of Umpires, measurers and markers as well as their interrelationship with officials
  7. Promote the advantages of the services and advise available from the panel on relevant occasions to clubs:
  8. Develop and maintain a high uniform standard of umpiring, measuring and marking within the Zone.
  9. Maintain a current record of umpires within the zone and recording of transfers and resignations.
  10. Identify potential umpires in clubs and encourage them to attend appropriate courses.
  11. Organise regular interaction between umpires and coaches through meetings and competition.
  12. Where the term Umpires is used this is meant to include markers, measurers and national umpires.
