NSW Masters Athletics Association

Masters Athletics is specifically for male and female athletes aged 30 and over, living in New South Wales, Australia, and is run in 5 year age groups (eg 30-34,35-39, 40-44). Everyone, from beginner to elite standard, is welcome, and our oldest member is aged 93 years young!

Our Association was founded in 1971, and is the State body for Australian Masters Athletics (AMA) in NSW, representing fitness, fun and fellowship across a range of athletic activities.

Association membership is taken separately from your ANSW Club membership, and costs only $40 per year. Our season runs from 1st October to 30th September.  By joining our Association you have:

  • Eligibility to enter AMA National Championships, AMA Winter Throws Championships, Oceania and World Championships, as well as any other event organised by AMA (note there are no entry qualifications for these competitions)
  • Claiming of State, National and World records (as listed on our website)
  • Quarterly Waratah newsletters
  • Eligibility to compete for NSWMA at State Relay events where your first claim Club has not entered a team in a particular event
  • Eligibility to enter NSWMA run events, eg the Dunbar Winter Throwing Series

In addition to our Association, NSWMA also has an ANSW Club affiliation. You can join us for full eligibility to enter all ANSW events, like you would any other ANSW Club.  A year’s membership runs from 1st Oct to 30th Sep, and costs:

Open Age

$110 ANSW fee + $40 Assoc fee

Pensioner 60+

$80 ANSW fee + $40 Assoc fee

Some great reasons to join NSWMA:
