Rotary Adventure in Citizenship (RAIC)

An intensive and fun filled week-long program for young adults to be better citizens of Australia

A Rotary experience ‘inside’ Canberra for Year 11 students from around Australiaphoto

We select delegates with different backgrounds and from different regions of Australia
Limited to 35 to 40 males and females (we try to balance the genders but that is not always possible).

Rotary families host the delegates – normally in pairs from different states

Delegates may be sponsored by their local Rotary Club

The parliamentary program is facilitated by Parliamentary Education Office educators at Parliament House and includes role-play, guest speakers, parliamentary chamber visits and an oportunity to meet your federal member of parliament

RAIC has been conducted since and 1990 is a joint venture between the Rotary Club of Woden and the  Rotary Club of Canberra in partnership with the Parliamentary Education Office (the office received a Bruce Drake Community Service Award from Woden Rotary in May 2009)
