FORMAT:

Round Robin

MATCH FORMAT:

The draw for the Hume Region girls’ competition will use the standard Round Robin format.  The draw for the Hume Region boys competition will depend on the number of entries received.

Points will be awarded as follows: Win: 2 points     Draw: 1 point     Loss: 0 points

If two teams are equal on Round Robin points after the completion of the round robin matches, then the team that won the match between these two teams will assume the higher position.  If this match was a draw or if there were more than two teams equal on Round Robin points, then percentage will be used to separate the teams.  In the event of a draw being played in a semi final or final, the game shall be decided by playing two five minute halves with a one minute interval.  If the teams are still tied after this time then the second half will continue until a goal is scored.

The match length for all competitions will be 4 x 7 minute quarters with a 2 minute break at half time.  At quarter and three quarter time the players must change straight over without delay.  Positions may be changed and substitutions made, provided it doesn’t hold up play.

All games will commence with the sounding of the starting bell.

Teams named first will take the centre pass, with the other team having the choice of ends.

A player ordered off the court may NOT be replaced for the remainder of that match.

All competitors must be similarly dressed in their school netball uniforms. Any player not appropriately attired, as listed, will not be permitted to participate in the Championship.

Jewellery, including studs and sleepers must not be worn. Fingernails must be cut short or taped.

The convener has the power to apply the following penalty for schools arriving after the start....one point/minute up to half time to opponents, after half time lose the match 20/0.

A player who has competed in at least one match or part of a match in Netball A at Division or Region level cannot compete in Netball B at Region level in the same year.  Schools with teams in both Netball A and Netball B on the same day should note that players listed on the Netball B team sheet cannot compete in Netball A on that day and vice versa.

Competing Teams

Must Provide:

·         A Match Ball.

·         First Aid Kit.

·         Clearly Marked Positional Bibs.

·         A Competent Scorer

·         A qualified umpire per school (country competition only)

Scorers must sit together and score/result sheets must be collected from the Convener before each match by the first named team and returned by the winning team.

Protests:

The convener is in sole charge of the day and their decision is final subject to the zone protest procedures.

Team Sheets:

Competing teams must present a completed team sheet to the convener on the day of competition before the start of round one.

Teams are restricted to a maximum of 12 players for the day.
