OFFICIALS TRAINING AND EXAMINATIONS
Officials education sessions are short and informative to give you the ability to run a competition site. For current officials, a chance to refresh and learn more. Anyone wishing to attend for one discipline, you are very welcome.

OFFICIALS ACCREDITATION SCHEME
For parents and willing adults with athletes competing in Little Athletics or who have a current Working with Children, who wish to assist as an official at State run events, please complete and return this form to the WALA office.
A Level C or D accreditation at Centre level is prepared.
The W A Little Athletics has adopted the Australian Little Athletics Officials Accreditation Scheme for training of its officials.
The scheme has three levels. D and C which are open book and can be done at Centre Level. B which is a written exam overseen by the Coaching & Education Officer on the board of Management.
Gradings are assessed on practical experience as well as theory papers. Officials who successfully complete the exams are issued with an accreditation card outlining the event/s and the grade obtained.

Junior D Grade Accreditation
This is a grading for 14 and 15 year olds, and will enable them to Chief at Centre and be a helper at Zone level.
Each candidate will b elimited to three exams per season.
They will also need to complete a practical assessment under the supervision of an officials appointed by the Centre's Organiser of Officials.
The Junior D Grading ceases once the officials turned 17. They may however apply through the WALA Officer for Coaching & Education to translate that accreditation to a D Grade.
There is NO Junior D Grade for Starting (minimum age for starters is 18).
D Grade Accreditation
D Grade . All disciplines are covered at this level except Track Umpires. These are multiple choice question exam papers.
When the multiple choice exam paper has been completed they need to be passed onto the Centre Executive handling this portfolio or to your Club Manager. They will then be passed onto the WALA office to be marked.
The participants may do a multiple of D Grade Exams
C Grade Accreditation
C Grade . All disciplines are covered at this level. These are multiple choice question exam papers.

B Grade Accreditation
B Grade These papers are a one-hour (1hr) written exam, undertaken in the company of an Officer of the Association.
People interested in attempting this exam need to enquire as to when the next exam will be available to be taken.
Please note it is advise that people attempt the Level C before attempting the Level B
