The South Australian Little Athletics Association Incorporated Access and Equity Guidelines are based on the inclusion of young people 3 years to 17 years with disabilities into Little Athletics.
SALAA is committed to a policy of equal opportunity in the services it provides. Consequently it is committed to ensuring
that athletes with disabilities are accorded complete and equitable access to opportunities provided by SALAA, as circumstances would reasonably allow.
SALAA is working to achieve this through the development of inclusive practices that meet the needs of all athletes, including those with disabilities.
SALAA is developing and implementing a Disability Action plan to ensure that it provides a physical and social environment in which athletes with disabilities have easy access to all services provided by SALAA. Key outcomes in achieving this vision through the Action Plan are:
SALAA will provide services and programs that are accessible and inclusive to people with disabilities.
SALAA will ensure that Coaches, Officials and Administrators have met the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (www.austlii.edu.au)
SALAA Action Plan will be promoted, monitored, assessed and reviewed on a regular basis.
SALAA will provide services in venues, which are accessible to people with disabilities.
SALAA will provide opportunities for consultation with people with a disability in decision-making processes regarding service delivery and in the implementation of complaints and grievance mechanisms.
SALAA Guidelines will ensure accessibility to competition and training programs.
These Guidelines will be promoted and circulated to all Centres & Clubs, Members, Staff and Administrators of SALAA.
