Smoke Free Policy

The South Australian Little Athletics Association Inc. and Affiliated Centres and Clubs recognise that passive smoking is hazardous to health and that non-smokers should be protected from the involuntary inhalation of tobacco smoke.

The Association and Affiliates also recognise that our Mission Statement is to:

“DEVELOP CHILDREN OF ALL ABILITIES BY PROMOTING POSITIVE ATTITUDES AND A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE THROUGH FAMILY AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES”

and that

Parents, Administrators, Coaches and Officials have a responsibility as Role Models, particularly when involved at Little Athletics Centres and at Association Events..

Accordingly, the following policy devised by The South Australian Little Athletics Association Inc. applies to all Members;-

SMOKING IS PROHIBITED AT:-

CENTRES AND CLUBS:

On the Competition arena and the area surrounding track and field events,

Clubrooms and Canteen area,

At Indoor and outdoor functions organised for Tiny Tots, Little Athletes, Junior Athletes, Parents, Coaches, Officials and Administrators.

Smoke Free signage provided to Centres will be displayed in the appropriate areas at all times during Little Athletics Meets, Committee Meetings and Social Functions.

EVENTS CONDUCTED BY THE ASSOCIATION OR ON BEHALF OF THE ASSOCIATION;

At the Mile End Facility - The Arena - warm up area, Grandstand, Seating in front of the Grandstand, Marshalling areas and immediate area surrounding the Track, Offices and Meeting Rooms.

The Association Annual General Meeting, State Conference, Events Hosted on behalf of the Association and any Social Function organised by the Association.

Smoke Free Signage will be displayed in appropriate areas at all times during Association Events, Meeting and Social Functions.

NON COMPLIANCE:

Non compliance of this policy will result in the offending persons being asked to reframe from smoking in the designated Smoke Free Areas.
