STATE MULTI-EVENT CHAMPIONSHIP

The State Multi-Event Championships are held on the first full weekend in March each year.

The 2016 State Multi-Event Championships will be held at the new synthetic track at DCL Park (Barden Park), Dubbo on Saturday & Sunday, 5 & 6 March 2016.   This event will be hosted by Dubbo Little Athletics and Dubbo City Council.  For accommodation in Dubbo, please click HERE.

First event each day will be at 9am, with first call at 8.45am. Athletes participate in ALL of the events on offer for their particular age group. Performances for all events are allocated points, based on the LANSW Multi-Event pointscore system. The points are then added together to determine final results.

Athlete Controllers

As usual, we will require parents to act as Athlete Controllers (which is similar to centre age managers) at the State Multi-Event.  There will be up to two (2) Athlete Controllers per age group and gender (eg. Under 9 Boys Blue, Under 9 Girls Yellow, Under 10 Boys Silver etc).  Please download the memo from 2015 regarding the Athlete Controller HERE, to see what is required.  Following close of entries a LIST OF COMPETITORS will be sent to all athletes who have entered.  This will show the age group and colour group allocated to each athlete.

LANSW STATE TEAM

Two boys and two girls from the U15 age group will be selected from their performances at the State Multi-Event Championships, to compete in the Australian Little Athletics Championships, which is held on the weekend nearest to Anzac Day each year.  These athletes will be selected based on their performances in the events which make up the ALAC Multi-Event competition (100m; hurdles; 800m; long jump; discus).  These athletes will be announced at the State Track & Field Championships.  Each year the Australian Little Athletics Championships is hosted by a different State/Territory Association. In 2016 the event will be conducted in Adelaide in April.
