ULTRAVIOLET PROTECTION

Australia has one of the highest frequencies of skin cancer in the world. Little Athletics is a summer sport; therefore officials need to show a leadership role by setting a good example.

  • All officials should wear appropriate headwear.
  • Officials should apply 30+ (or higher) sunscreen to all exposed area every 2 hours.
  • Officials should bring a water bottle to all carnivals and ensure that they maintain an adequate of intake of fluids during the carnival.

It is expected that officials would urge athletes to follow these guidelines as well.
