Kinotre renal health unit project


Woden Rotary partnered with the Western Desert Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation and constructed a renal dialysis health unit in Kintore (in the Western Desert over 500 km west of Alice Springs. That useful community asset has dialysis facilities, a health-education centre, accommodation for staff and patients and other facilities.

Kiwirrkurra renal health unit project


We providing facilities for a renal dialysis health unit in the new clinic and converted the old health clinic into nurse quarters at Kiwirrkurra in conjunction with WDNWPT - with whom we constructed the renal dialysis health unit at Kintore.

Sailability ACT suport


Woden Rotary purchased a new Hansa 303 Wide sailing boat named 'George' for Sailability ACT. It was launched on Sunday 26 February 2017 in the presence of Woden Rotary members, the ACT Minister and Shadow Minister for Disability and the local MLA.

Hospital wishing well


Woden Rotary used the proceeds from the Wishing Well in the atrium entry to Canberra Hospital, Woden to purchase equipment and artworks for the benefit of hospital patients and visitors. This was a long-term Club initiative (from 1993 to 2016) for the Woden community and a continuing relationship with the Canberra Hospital. The wishing well was not replaced when entry was refurbished.

Indigenous Health Scholarships


Woden Rotary supports indigenous students studying to become health professionals ( doctors, nurses, and other health related professions) through the Indigenous Health Scholarship Program managed by Australian Rotary Health. The aim being to assist students to gain an education that will, in turn, enable them to use their education for the benefit of other indigenous people - hopefully, but not necessarily, in some of our remote areas.

Cardaic ambulance, India


Woden Rotary, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Nashik Road (Calcutta India) purchased and equipped a cardiac ambulance for use in the Nasik district. It was the only cardiac ambulance in the district operated and maintained by the Jairam Hospital and Research Centre Pvt Ltd in Nishik Road, Nashik. It has been used frequently with disadvantaged patients receiving free ambulance service and patients with private insurance being charged a fee depending on the type of service.
