Horsham Hockey Club (HHC) consists of 4 teams: Hurricanes (men), Highlanders (women) and Bombers (under 16 mixed team) and Black Hawks (U12 mixed team)
Our club originated from the Horsham Women’s Hockey Association which commenced in 1951 and ceased in 1974 when the Wimmera Hockey Association (WHA) was formed. We continue to be part of this Association.
The association consists of teams from Kaniva, Yanac, Nhill, Dimboola, Warracknabeal and Horsham. All games are held at a single location each week, with the weekly venues being rotated between the 6 towns. Our season runs from mid march to mid September.
The Horsham Hockey Club colours are Black and Red.The Men and Juniors have black shirts with red trim, Women wear black body suits with red trim, white numbers and our club logo printed in white. The U12s wear polo shirts that are red with black trim and black numbers
As a club, we welcome members of all ages and ability levels, our members/supporters range from grandparents, families, young adults and children.
In addition to the regular home and away games, our senior and junior players also play in our association representative teams that compete at events such as Country Week (held in Melbourne and Geelong) and the South West games. We see this as important in the development of our members. Individuals also are encouraged to aim high to participate and try out at zone and state levels. We have had club representatives be selected for State Veteran Teams and play in the Australian Masters and World Masters Tournaments. We see this as important part in the development for both young and older members.
