Mid North Cruisers

The Mid North Cruisers Hockey Club are made up of players living from all over the Mid North, Far North and York Peninsula regions of SA. It has one team entered in the Port Pirie Association which is a division one women’s team and play the majority of their matches on Friday nights, all on the hybrid turf. This allows for Cruisers players to still play for and support their local country Associations such as YP and Clare, while improving their skills and game knowledge, by playing on turf against other highly competitive teams. It also allows for individuals who are unable to travel mid week for trainings to still be able to play at a high level of hockey.

As a result the Cruisers have had many players selected for state representation including country state teams and Masters.

Founded in 2008, the team was first known as the Clare Valley Cruisers adding a much needed fourth team to the women’s premier league competition. The club changed its name to Mid North Cruisers later to encompass all the other regional players. They won the grand final in 2009 and have been in many premiership battles since.

The Cruisers promote good sportsmanship, fair play and above all else playing as a team.

Trainings are monthly during the season on Sundays.
