Park Royal Panthers

Park Royal Panthers Hockey Club was established in 1994 after the amalgamation of the women’s Park Royal and men’s Panthers organisations.  The club is celebrating its’ 20 year milestone in 2014, with a reunion weekend held over the 4, 5 and 6th of July.

The current membership is 235 with 7 Senior; D1, 2, 3 M&W and D4M (over 40’s) and 7 Junior; U18, 15, 12G&B and U9 Development (Mixed) teams.  The club colours are a nod to our history, with a strip incorporating navy, white and royal blue from the Park Royal and Panther Clubs respectively.  Players are involved in all aspects of the club from committee and coaching positions to umpiring, bar and canteen duties.  The Social Committee provides fundraising events for members, supporters and friends with functions for the Junior and Senior members alike.  The ladies have an annual trip at the end of the season, which is well anticipated for some down time after sticks have been put away for another year.

The club has a successful history, with numerous teams represented in Grand Finals play-offs and premierships in each season from 1994-2013. We have 13 Life Members still actively involved in the daily running of the club and games record holder Kathy Anderson, who continues to play in Queensland, takes the number one position on 505 Games.  Andy Fuchs is our club leading goal scorer with 509 goals up until the close of Season 2013, but will be sure to add another bag full this year.

The 2014 Committee is:

President: Kathryn Clarke                                  Vice President: Peter Smith

Secretary: Nicole Ferme                                     Treasurer:  Trevor McDonald

Many families are continuing with the club with their next generation playing and becoming involved in administration, which has been great to see in our 20th year under the Park Royal Panthers banner!
