THE MEMORY WALK—FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THERE ANY AGE LIMIT FOR ENTERING THE MEMORY WALK?
No, children who are unable to walk an entire route need to be in prams or strollers.
All children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
 
AFTER I ENTER, WILL I RECEIVE CONFIRMATION OF MY ENTRY?
Yes, if you enter online on www.memorywalk.com.au you will receive a confirmation via return email.
If you enter by post, you will receive a confirmation note by return post.
Posted entries after 15 September will not receive confirmation.

DO I GET A REFUND IF I’VE ENTERED AND CANNOT ATTEND?

Request of entry fee refund will not be accepted after Monday 20 September 2010.
If unable to attend, please consider giving your entry fee as a tax-deductible donation.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO WALK THE ROUTES?

The average walker travels at 3.6km per hour.
Using this statistic, the 2km walk may take 45 minutes and the 5km walk about 1.5 hours.

WILL WALKERS BE TIMED?
No, there will be no timing devices at the 2010 Memory Walk.

CAN I CHANGE WALK ROUTES ON THE DAY?

Yes, please let the Alzheimer’s Australia NSW staff and Volunteers at the Registration marquee know by 9am at the event.

CAN I WALK BOTH THE 2KM AND 5KM WALK ROUTES?
Yes, please indicate this on your entry form.

WHAT IF IT RAINS, WILL THE EVENT BE CANCELLED?
Alzheimer’s Australia NSW will endeavor to run the event as long as it is safe for participants. If in doubt whether to attend or not, please phone 8875 4626 on the morning of the event, for a recorded message.

WILL THERE BE ANY ROAD CLOSURES CAUSED BY THE MEMORY WALK?
No road closures are planned for this event. Vechicles will still have access to Parramatta Park during the event, so please be careful when crossing roads and obey all directions from our Volunteer Walk Marshalls.
