REPRESENTATIVE SIDE  FOR THE PERPETUAL TROPHY TO BE PLAYED AT NELSON BAY ON FRIDAY 16 & SATURDAY 17 JANUARY AGAINST ACT

The girls came out with all guns firing  winning the first test 79-71 under very poor weather conditions, the second test in the afternoon and the ACT girls were determined to give it their all and they come out with a close victory 74 to Newcastle  and 75 to ACT.

Despite a valiant  effort from the 4 teams and again with unfavourable conditions with intermittent showers ACT proved to be too strong on the heavier surface winning the third and final test 89 to Newcastles 67.

Congratulations to our girls who gave it their all, the trophy finally going south after Newcastle retaining it for the last 5 years.

The next series will be played in the Act in 2017.

WINNING REPRESENTATIVE SIDE of THE ROSEBOWL  PLAYED AT ETTALONG ON 13 NOVEMBER 2015 AGAINST THE CENTRAL COAST DISTRICT

What a great result our Newcastle side defeating the Central Coast District 126 to 107. Well done everyone.

After a delicious lunch provided by President Lauren and her happy band of helpers it was then President Gail's honor to

accept the Rosebowl from CCDWBA Vice President Norma. Back on the bus for the long trip home, none of the players had

their spirits dampened with the  heavy rain most of the way home. Congratulations girls on your victory.

In conditions more suitable for Eskimo's the Rep side played some great bowls but were unable to retain the Friendship Trophy and President Helen had the unfortunate honour of handing it over to President Fay of lake Macquarie District. No doubt we will be more determined to win it back next year on home soil. Thanks girls for a very entertaining game, we know you all had a great day at Wangi. Many thanks to Wangi girls for your hospitality and luscious lunch.

A hard fought game was played by both Newcastle

and Illawarra Districts with the score seesawing

throughout the game. Despite the best efforts of our

side victory was not to be with Illawarra taking out

the Howard Shield 144-141. Thank you must go to

Raymond Terrace Bowling Club for their hosting of

the Howard Shield for 2015 and we look forward tp

the rematch in 2016 in the Illawarra District.
