Club Connect 2018
Athletics NZ’s annual club conference – Club Connect was held in Wellington over the weekend.
The Club Connect programme is designed specifically to assist and support clubs to improve what they do and provide excellent services to their members and we’d have to say this year’s conference did just that!
Check out the presentations
The Annual General Meeting of Athletics NZ was also held on the weekend. Congratulations to new President Ian Babe from Whangarei, Vice President Joan Merrilees from Otago, new Board Members Jo O’Sullivan and Paul Spinks (replacing Dean McKenzie and Annette Purvis) and Past President Dianne Rodger who is now on the Board Appointments Panel.
We have two new Merit Award recipients in Ian Baird and the late Dick Quax.
2018 Help for Athletics in Canterbury
The Nga Puna Wai Athletics Track is almost complete, but Athletics Canterbury needs a little more help to get it “across the line”. They are calling for donations to help complete their equipment stocks, so they can host the NZ T&F Champs in March next year. It’s been a tough time for athletics in Christchurch, so let’s get in behind them to complete this important project!
