The business end of the track and field season is coming up with Centre Championships, National Championships, the Athletics NZ International Series and the Commonwealth Games all in the next two months.

There's also the Centre Childrens’ Championships, the NZ Masters’ Championships, lots of Secondary School athletics and the Grade 12/13 Interprovincial during this period. You would have to agree that it’s going to be a very busy and exciting time!

In this issue of Athletics in Action we chat with hurdler Cameron  French after his New Zealand record and Commonwealth Games qualifying performance, we talk to middle distance runner Brad Mathas about almost quitting the sport and we catch up with Julian Oakley after some stand-out performances on the US indoor circuit, for our “Five minutes with …” segment.

There's much more in this issue of Athletics in Action, so keep reading.
