IAAF World Championships
What an amazing performance from Tom Walsh in London, winning Gold at the men’s shot put at the IAAF World Championships! We’ve also had Jacko Gill and Eliza McCartney finishing ninth and Zane Robertson sixteenth in their events at the championships . It’s not over yet – we have four Kiwis in action on Thursday evening (Friday morning NZ time) striving to make finals.

Athletics NZ AGM
At the 130th AGM of Athletics New Zealand in Auckland on 30 July, former Olympian Dianne Rodger (pictured left) was elected the President of Athletics New Zealand. Athletics New Zealand Board chairman Annette Purvis (pictured right) was honoured with Life Membership of the association, while Merit Awards were presented to John Tylden, Heather O’Hagan and David Lonsdale. Chris Maister was reappointed to the Board and Peter Wyatt was elected to the Board. Chief Executive Linda Hammersley (pictured centre) was farewelled.
