In this issue of Athletics in Action we talk to distance runner Jake Robertson after some stellar performances early in 2017, we chat to Athletics NZ Lead Throws Coach Dale Stevenson about the growing Christchurch Throws Hub and we catch up with emerging javelin thrower Alex Wood for our “Five minutes with …” segment.

This weekend sees the iconic Rotorua Marathon taking place in the thermal capital of NZ with a total of over 5000 taking part in the various events, from the children’s mini-marathon to the full lap of the lake marathon.

It's now full steam ahead for the winter season with some of the traditional Cross Country races coming up very soon. The biggest one of them all, the NZ Secondary Schools XC Champs is just six weeks away.

There's much more news in this issue of Athletics in Action, so keep reading.

The great events that make up our sport couldn’t happen without officials. Some will take a well-earned break now while others will move into the winter season, officiating at cross country and road race events.
