Crocs Seniors teams have Home Games this Sunday
The action kicks off at 815am with the Under 18s Boys followed by the Womens Premier League at 10am, The Mens Div Two, Mens Div One and the main game of Mens Premier League play at Midday, 2pm and 4pm respectively. All SDFC members have free entry. They are great days a good chance to bring the whole family down to support the Crocs.
The Mens Premier league have played very well the first two games with a lot of experienced players not playing yet the side has been able to give debuts to a few players. 16yo Beau Schwarze who won the NTFL Under 14s 2013/14 season Gunderson Medal has stepped up and has been a standout, Zac Smith who won the NTFL Under 18s Abala Medal last season made his debut last Sunday and played along side his brother Sam. And the chance has come about for Div one players Kane Davis and Steven Stewart to be promoted into the Premier League side and both have played very well. Kane shows he is very strong and pulled off two great tackles in the round 1 game against Waratah.
The Mens Div One team have lost their first two games but will improve and it is great to see juniors stepping up to play in this side. The really great thing to see is 16 of the 23 players on Sunday being former SDFC Juniors now playing in this team.
The very large contingent of SDFC junior grades started their games in round 2 and had mixed results. A Standout performance was in the Under16s Div One with Jayden Cooper-Cunningham kicking seven goals in his team's win.
The club though needs many volunteers and as many helpers as possible on all game days especially Home Games, please contact the club even if you can only help out for a couple of hours it will make a big difference.

Great news stories out of the CROCS
There are so many positive news stories happening at the Crocs this season. Along with the so many young players playing in the seniors teams and seeing their development and Crocs juniors getting chance in the Mens Premier League side it is really getting back to Grass Roots footy for the SDFC. Mens Div One players are getting a run in the Premier League side and playing very well. Juniors are having a run in the Mens Divisions teams and playing very well as well. The young Premier League Womens team under the coaching of Bill Feeney jnr is getting stronger and are coming together very well, and have already notched up a win after only two rounds. The Boys Under 18s team coached by Mens Premier League Captain Matt Cannard is undefeated after two very good wins to start the season and the Girls Under 18s team is developing well too.
Looking at the coaching and team staff personal of the club now is very impressive also with many of them being former Crocs juniors, Premier League players, Nichols Medallists, Premiership winners, NTFL and SDFC Player Life Members and current Premier League players as well.
Many people going down to the club to watch the games over the weekend saw it was very refreshing with seeing the culture building at the club in the senior grades. Seeing players in each grade working in the bar on a roster and the supporters being able to be served by players was so great to see. And they did a great job too. With another two seniors Home Game days over the two weekends plenty more helps are required to volunteer. Any little bit of help is muchly appreciated. Please contact the club to offer to help out.
Along with the seniors players helping out with the bar each senior team is also having a turn at organising an event over the season. The first one being on the Saturday Home Game in two weeks time. Hopefully have some more info in the next newslatter. It’s all come about from the stability of the seniors teams with a core group of players in each team each season and coaches who have been in their roles over a few seasons. Great to see all now getting involved in the clubs activities.
All teams at the SDFC have now all appointed coaches with the last two positions taken up by a SDFC champion former player in Gerard Atkins who coached last season in his debut juniors coaching role and the other team coached by two current Mens Premier League players in Michael Bowden and Matthew Duffy.
So much positivity the future is looking very bright.
