The Rio Olympic Games have provided a great launching platform into the start of the summer athletics season with some amazing performances from our team of NZL athletes.
A huge congratulations to our four medallists Valerie Adams, Tom Walsh, Eliza McCartney and Nick Willis, along with Jacko Gill, Zane Robertson and Quentin Rew who all featured in the top 12 in their events.
Clubs can certainly expect an influx of new members in the coming months on the back of these inspiring performances.
It's not far to the next NZ championship event, the NZ Road Champs in Masterton next weekend and the start of the summer season is certainly sneaking up very quickly too.
In this issue we talk to one of our Rio team members who set a new NZ record and who is looking towards a new challenge. We also
chat to a Kiwi sports lawyer about her very important work on the new governance structure at the IAAF .
There’s lots more in this issue of Athletics in Action, so keeping reading.
