Have you heard?! Bowls is back on free to air!

 
 

In one of the most exciting announcements for the sport in recent memory, Bowls Australia is thrilled to announce a return to free to air television, with the launch of "The Bowls Show" - a weekly magazine program to air each Sunday from May 15 to September 25 at 1.00pm.

The Bowls Show will air on SBS, the sport's new free-to-air TV partner, and will also be shown on SBS On Demand following each episode.

The Bowls Show will be show a mix of event highlights as well as regular weekly segments on coaching, high performance, development and many other topics.

The most widely broadcast Australian Open so far!

 
 

In exciting news for Australian Open participants, the finals of the Men's Singles, Men's Pairs, Women's Singles, Women's Pairs will be shown as highlights on The Bowls Show in the weeks following the event, as well as remaining live on our pay-TV partner Fox Sports.

In an Australian first, Bowls Australia is excited to announce that the highlights of the Under-18 Boys' and Girls' finals will both also be showcased on The Bowls Show in the weeks following the event. This means that viewers from all over Australia will be able to catch their first glimpse of our future Australian stars from the comfort of their living rooms.

If you can't catch The Bowls Show on SBS as it airs, don't worry - you will always be able to catch up on SBS On Demand at a time and place of your convenience!

2015 Australian Open Women's Pairs Final - Brown and Dutton aim to go back to back!

 

 

In the third installment of our 2015 Australian Open finals series, we take a look at the Women's Pairs final, with Queensland pair Emma Brown and Noelene Dutton looking to win their second straight Australian Open title, no mean feat in a field of 188 pairs!

Standing in their way were former Australian representative Maria Rigby and veteran Queenslander Jackie McWhinney-Shillington. With the sun shining, the two pairs put on a fantastic show on the world class greens of Broadbeach Bowls Club.

Host Club Profiles - Coolangatta

 
 

The southern-most club in the Australian Open and a new club to the event, Coolangatta's three pristine greens will be a most welcome sight for bowlers throughout the event. Founded in 1949, the club has been the home of many of Australia's finest throughout it's history, with legends such as Kelvin Kerkow, Rob Parrella, Ian Schuback and Helen Bosisto having turned out for the club during their careers.

The club also has a significant involvement in the Cooly Rocks On festival, to be held this year from June 3 to June 13 and will be hosting the first Bowls Australia rankings event in the 2016/17 period, the tier 4 Coolangatta Bonanza. World Cup - Warilla

The annual World Cup is currently being held at the wonderful Warilla Bowls & Recreation Club and we are pleased to announce that the event will be live streamed from the semi-finals onwards!

Check out the BA website for more information as Australia's representatives Jeremy Henry (gunning for his fourth title) and Carla Krizanic (nee Odgers) battle it out against some of the world's best singles players.

Australian Sides Championships

March 31 - April 3, 2016

The 24 best bowlers from each state and territory collide in the ACT to contest the annual Australian Sides Championships.

The coveted Alley Shield and Marj Morris Trophy will once again be on the line, as a powerful NSW lineup look to defend their titles in both the Men's and Women's events!'
