Cross Country Work Parties - UpdateApril 5-6. The April first-weekend-in-the-month is rapidly approaching and there is lots to do. Ranger Tim has a productive summer grooming program in place that will greatly improve the retention of snow on the groomed trails. NPWS staff will be working with the volunteers to improve snow fencing and deal with rocks that are limiting winter grooming. Other planned work includes brush-cutting and management of vegetation on the 5km, 7.5km, 10km and Wheatley (if time allows). The 2.5km was the focus of the brush-cutters at the last work party and the results are very promising! Pole repair and numbering is an on-going project that has great safety and practical implications. |
