Cross Country Work Parties

Work parties on the Perisher XC trails.  It is that time of year again - weekends in the mountains, cool days, gorgeous environment, good people and a fine way to expend energy at high altitude.

Winter 2013 showed clearly how effective summer grooming of the trails is in holding minimal snow. And how important it is to keep improving things.  New snow fences, rock-removal and fine-tuning the routes are all low-tech strategies that have proved themselves over time and there is lots of that on the agenda for this summer.  Think of the winter ahead and set aside a summer weekend (the first weekend of each month) to join NPWS and the XC volunteers at the Nordic Shelter and on the trails.
