The Henley Classic is just over a month away!

Dear MEMBERFIRSTNAME,

As it's only just over a month away till this year's Henley Classic, we thought it was time to update you on our plans for this year's event. There's information on Saturday Registrations and our evening Pasta Party, which you can book tickets for; swim training information; news about a Performance Wave and deadlines for changing your Race Category; so please make sure you read through this thoroughly, so that you don't miss any important information.

Also, if you haven't already downloaded your Henley Classic Information Pack, please download it now, as this will provide much of the information that you'll need to be aware of on the day.

First of all though, we thought you'd like to see the latest view of the course, albeit the skys are rather grey!

As you can see the boomed course is well under construction and will be completed very shortly.  You'll also be pleased to hear the river level has also gone back to normal since all the rain we've had.

Performance Wave

This year we'd really like to make sure you get the best possible race experience, so for those of you who are seriously competitive we are planning on including a Performance Wave, which will be run just after the Elite Wave and before the Open Men's Wave.

The idea behind this wave is that anyone who takes part will get to race alongside their closest competitors, meaning that you get a real race experience.

In order to make this a true test, this wave is only open to swimmers who aim to complete the course in under 34 minutes.

As a guide, if you have not swum the event before but are an experienced swimmer and are completing swims in the pool over 1500m in a time under 23 minutes, you would also be eligible to enter this wave.

If you would like to enter the Performance Wave, please email georgina@henleyswim.com with your latest times or the time you completed the event in last year.

The deadline for entering this wave is strictly Wednesday 6th June.

Race Category Changes

If you need to change your Race Category, email entries@henleyswim.com. However, please make sure you do this by Wednesday 6th June, as no Category changes will be allowed after that date or on the day.

Swim Training

I'm sure your training is well under way, however, tf you haven't done so already, there's still time to get some open water training in before the event. Check out our Swim Training page, which has lots of tips and advice to help you prepare for the event, especially if this is the first year you've taken part. If that is the case, you may be interested in the following sessions:-
