McDonald's Cross Country

The Cross Country Championships were held on Sunday hosted by Reynella East Little Athletics Centre.
In true cross country style all morning up until mid-day it rained but ‘weather’ or not the athletes gave it their best. Our friend Ronald McDonald arrived around mid-day telling us he had bought the sunshine and so he did the rest of the day was just ‘cold’. Ronald joined in the tiny tots and younger age group events to make it more fun for the children, we are sure he also enjoyed the run!
We sincerely thank Mark Potter (President) and the Reynella East Little Athletics Committee for doing a fantastic job hosting the event and the Little Athletics SA Officials Club Members and Board Members who gave their time to support them ensuring all young athletes were assisted during the event and around the track during the day.
All in all it was a great family, fun and fitness day thanks to all involved.
We appreciated Jamie Hodge, Licensee at Noarlunga and Seaford McDonald’s Restaurants accompanied by his two children and Ronald for supporting the day. To McDonald’s thank you for providing Sport Achievement Certificates at all Meets and Certificates recognising all participants efforts as well as drink bottles for all participating athletes at the championships.
It would be remiss not to thank Greg Peterson our Competition & Technical Director for his efforts and also for making the results available on Monday morning. The results are attached and are also on our website.
A big thank you to all Centres who hosted a McDonald’s Cross Country Meet during the season we hope the event has assisted you in a great start for the 2011- 2012 season and that you have been rewarded for your efforts.
We guess it seemed fitting that the season started in the rain and we finished the season in the rain. Hopefully September and October will bring a great start to the 40th Season of Little Athletics in South Australia.
