Dame Valerie's domination extends

News through this week that due to a retrospective doping suspension, Dame Valerie Adams' unbeaten streak now stretches to 107 competitions over a period of eight years. She is now the holder of two Olympic titles, four World Championship titles, four World Indoor titles, three Commonwealth Games titles, as well as silver medals from the Olympics, World Champs and Commonwealth Games. This comes as Dame Valerie settles into parenthood and will soon commence training towards her fifth Commonwealth Games. What a champion!

Robinson first to be named for Gold Coast

Paralympic javelin silver medallist Holly Robinson has been named as the first athlete in the New Zealand team to compete in the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. The 22 year old F46 javelin thrower represented New Zealand at the London 2012 Paralympic Games placing seventh, and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games where she won the silver medal. 2017 has been another strong year for Robinson who placed second in the F46 javelin at the World Para Athletics World Championships in London with a throw of 42.41m, just below her New Zealand record of 42.68m set earlier in the year.
