2015 Amelia McGuiness Scholarship - Closes this Wednesday 14th of October 2015 The 2015 Amelia McGuiness Scholarship is now open. Snowsports competitors from 10 to 19 years old are welcome to apply. Please click here for more information and to apply for the Scholarship. The AMASDF is dedicated to providing practical support (for equipment, training, and resources), to up-and-coming winter snowsports athletes from the age of 10 to 19 years old, across all disciplines including disabled snowsports. Application Due Dates • Online Application Opens: 9am, Monday 31st of August 2015. • Online Application Closes: 5pm, Wednesday 14th of October 2015 (no applications will be accepted after this time) • Character Reference Due: 5pm, Friday 16th of October 2015 (applications will not be considered if a character reference isn't received) • Notification: Successful and Unsuccessful Athletes will be notified by Friday 11th of December 2015. |

NSW Snowboard - NSW Interschools Perisher and Thredbo ScholarshipsNSW Snowboard would like to announce that applications for a NSW Snowboard Perisher or Thredbo Scholarship Program are now open. Both Perisher and Thredbo, in conjunction with NSW Interschools, are offering Scholarship opportunities for young Snowboard athletes in the form of either a winter season pass for Thredbo or Perisher or a PWSC training voucher for the upcoming 2016 season. Applications close on 6th November. Successful applicants will be notified by mid-December. NSW Snowboard would like to thank Perisher, Thredbo and NSW Interschools for their ongoing support of snowboard athletes by offering these scholarships. |

NSW Snowboard Committee - Positions AvailableThe NSW Snowboard Committee held their AGM on Sunday 4th October in Jindabyne. Stuart and Ellen Davis-Meehan formally resigned in their positions of Chairperson and Secretary and the committee would like to thank them for all the work and dedication to snowboarding and the athletes over their term serving on the committee. An election was held and the following positions were filled: Chairperson – Rob Dickson Secretary – Position Vacant Treasurer – Cathy Lambert General committee members – Chad Collier, Rob Fortune, Mark Thomas, Paul Colby Congratulations to the newly elected committee. Please note that the Secretary position is vacant and if there is any interest in filling this position, please email nswsnowboard@nswsnowsports.com.au with your nomination. |

NSWXC Nordic Celebrates its Athlete's AchievementsNSWXC Nordic held their 2014-15 Presentations on Sunday 4th October. The Presentations celebrated some great performances during winter and the highest number of junior athlete qualifying for the National Junior Cross Country Team for some years. A large number of athletes also qualified for the NSWXC Nordic Team for the first time highlighting the on-going success of the NSWXC athlete programs. Skier of the Year was again awarded to 2014 Sochi Olympian Callum Watson and Outstanding Achievement to Lilly Boland for her selection to represent Australia at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2016. Other awards included: Athlete qualified for the Australian National Team: Callum Watson, Aimee Watson, Jackson Bursill Athletes qualified for the Australian Junior Team: Lily Boland, Matthew Bull, Nelle Forster-Berghuis, Gabi Hawkins, Hamish Roberts, Darcie Morton Athletes - first-time qualified for the 2015-16 NSWXC Nordic Team: Oskar Hall, Olivia Burke, Paris McMahon, Isabella Moon, Lara Hamilton, Lulu Miskin, Dom Cooper, Georgie Hawkins Athletes invited to U16 Australian Development Camps: Felicia Auer, Declan Burke, Emily Champion, Lola Timewell, Bentley Walker-Broose, Matthew Wright Athlete qualified first time for NSWXC Nordic Squad: Max Inglis, Killian Kretzschmar, Phoebe Cridland, Saskia Mon, Zoe Latham U12 NSWXC Squad Performance and Commitment: Thomas Inglis and Heli Laajoki Much thanks goes to NSW Snowsports, NSW Interschools and Perisher for their support of the NSWXC Nordic programs through financial grants. These grants made it possible to provide financial support to Callum Watson and Lilly Boland for their overseas training and racing in 2015-16 and for junior and senior athletes selected to the National Team to be supported by payment of their 2015-16 National Team membership fee and their FIS racing licence in 2016. This support is valued at $410 per athlete. |

AGM of NSWXC Athlete Management Group (AMG) Sub-CommitteeThe NSWXC Athlete Management Group (AMG) Sub-Committee AGM will be held Sunday 25th of October from 5pm to 7pm. The AGM will be held at Sport House, Level 2, 8 Parkview Drive, Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay - Nepean Room All interested parents of athletes who are members or wanting to become members of NSWXC AMG Programs are invited to attend. NSW Nordic November Training Camp - Live InDate: 21 and 22 November 2015 Athletes will be able to arrive at the Camp at any time Saturday morning if they have School sport or Club sport commitments. Naamaroo is a Uniting Church venue in Lane Cove National Park ideal for sporting groups. http://unitingvenues.org/naamaroo Accommodation will be in ensuited Cabins and Venue facilities include basketball and volleyball courts, recreational oval, swimming pool, games room. All meals including morning and afternoon tea are included. A range of training activities including roller-skiing, hill bounding, bush running will be included as well as time to enjoy Naamaroo's facilities and each others company. A Parent catch-up Supper will be held on Saturday evening (details to follow). |

NSWACT Alpine 2015 Team - Athlete GrantsAs a valued member of the 2015 NSWACT Alpine Team you are invited to apply for Athlete Grants. These grants are awarded annually to state team athletes in the Open, Junior and Under 14 teams. Please note that to enable us to award these NSWACT AlpineTeam Athlete Grants at NSW Alpine Annual General Meeting to be held Saturday 24th October 2015 we need to receive your completed application no later than Friday 9 October 2015.
