2015 Amelia McGuiness Scholarship - Now Open
The 2015 Amelia McGuiness Scholarship is now open. Snowsports competitors from 10 to 19 years old are welcome to apply.

The AMASDF is dedicated to providing practical support (for equipment, training, and resources), to up-and-coming winter snowsports athletes from the age of 10 to 19 years old, across all disciplines including disabled snowsports.
Application Due Dates
• Online Application Opens: 9am, Monday 31st of August 2015.
• Online Application Closes: 5pm, Wednesday 14th of October 2015 (no applications will be accepted after this time)
• Character Reference Due: 5pm, Friday 16th of October 2015 (applications will not be considered if a character reference isn't received)
• Notification: Successful and Unsuccessful Athletes will be notified by Friday 11th of December 2015.

In the event that any of these Working Committee Convenors are not elected any unfilled positions will be filled as determined by the PXC Executive.
Those who wish to nominate as an officer of PXC or vote at the PXC AGM must be financial members of PXC as per Clause 6 of the PXC by-laws. A financial member includes a member of NSW Snowsports, Snowsports ACT, member of a member club of NSW Snowsports, member of a member club of Snowsports ACT. Voting must take place in person, there is no proxy voting.
Plan for the AGM to be completed before Morning Tea with a series of PXC sub-committee planning meetings/workshops taking place prior to lunch. After lunch the whole group will be involved with an open forum which will allow for brainstorming for new ideas to promote and grow XC skiing. The day will finish no later than 3pm.

NSW Nordic November Training Camp - Live In
Date: 21 and 22 November 2015
Location: Naamaroo, Lane Cove National Park
Time: Commences 10.30am, 21/11 2015
Cost: $120 - accom/meals
$80 - coaching fee
$200 - Total Cost
Athletes will be able to arrive at the Camp at any time Saturday morning if they have School sport or Club sport commitments. Naamaroo is a Uniting Church venue in Lane Cove National Park ideal for sporting groups.

Accommodation will be in ensuited Cabins and Venue facilities include basketball and volleyball courts, recreational oval, swimming pool, games room. All meals including morning and afternoon tea are included.
A range of training activities including roller-skiing, hill bounding, bush running will be included as well as time to enjoy Naamaroo's facilities and each others company.
A Parent catch-up Supper will be held on Saturday evening (details to follow).
NSWXC Master Skiers Series - 2015
The 2015 XC Master skiers managed to cram a lot of skiing into a seriously truncated season. Events were cancelled, moved, rescheduled and reformatted. But when the weather and snow finally settled, the skiing was terrific! Following the competitions this season required flexibility and perseverance. The Master Skiers were there, race after race, regardless of the conditions – every event organisers dream competitors!
Many thanks to the participants in the XC Master Skier Series and everyone who took part whether they completed the Series or not. Many more thanks to the race organisers who not only made the events possible, but who have donated free entry to the winners of the XC Master Skiers draws each year.
Paddy Pallin Jnr XC Ski Event - 2015 - Fun on a Fine Day!
Snow, sunshine and smiles were the order of the day for the Paddy Pallin Junior cross country ski event held on Saturday 5 September 2015. Having been postponed from the beginning of the July school holidays due to a lack of snow, the weather gods certainly turned on a show and there was plenty of snow and sunshine to go around.
Thirty one participants, ranging in age from 2 years to 16 years, competed over varying distances from 50 metres to three kilometres, with multiple laps on a one kilometre loop ensuring excellent view points for spectators. As the oldest cross country ski event still being held in Australia, it was wonderful to see a broad spectrum of abilities and ages, including a number of participants who are the second generation of previous Paddy Pallin junior competitors.

Sport and Recreation deliver a range of support and services in NSW that promote a healthy and active lifestyle. From participation and training programs to workshops, we work closely with individuals, sporting clubs and associations, community groups and local government to build strong, inclusive and active communities.
The Sports Safety Weekend is ideal for those involved in sport who would like to obtain a:
• First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003) + CPR certificate (HLTAID001)
AND/OR
• Sports Trainer National Accreditation plus Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) ID card.
