NSW Snowsports Annual General Meeting - Preliminary Notice - 25th March 2015
Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of NSW Snowsports will be held on Wednesday 25th March 2014 beginning at 6.45pm.
The Meeting is to be held at:

Teleconference in Jindabyne - 1 Mitchell Circuit, Jindabyne

We are currently seeking nominations for the Board of Directors.
To stand for a NSW Snowsports Board Position, the nominee must:
Be a current NSW Snowsports Member, by way of SSA membership with NSW as your nominated state.
Be nominated and seconded by current NSW Snowsports Members.

2015 NSWOC Athlete Grant
The New South Wales Olympic Council (NSWOC) is pleased to announce the continuation of the Athlete Grant Program.
This year, the NSWOC will distribute five $1, 500 cash grants to ‘up and coming’ junior NSW athletes in 2015.
The focus of this program is to provide increased opportunities and assist with the funding for the development of young, ‘up and coming’ NSW athletes. The program has been created to reach athletes outside of the NSWIS scholarship program and those that are not already receiving significant support from their State, National Sporting Bodies or third parties.
Media & Communications Workshop
Female cross country ski athletes, coaches, officials, administrators & supporting mums…We need your help to ‘talk up’ XC skiing…raise our media profile and get more people & sponsors on skinny skis!
Come along to The Media & Communications Skills Workshop, organised by the Ski & Snowboard Australia, National Cross Country Committee and funded by the Australian Sports Commission’s Women Leaders in Sport Program Sports Media Communications specialist, Alice Wheeler, is the guest speaker and other presenters include, James Bennett (ABC Reporter) & Michelle Armstrong (Communications Consultant).
Perisher XC Work Party 2 - Feb 28 to March 1
XC Work Party # 1 is behind us and planning for #2 is underway. If you can attend on Feb28/Mar 1, please contact Peter Ward (nswxc1@gmail.com). If you require accommodation, let Peter Cunningham know (peter.cunningham@actewagl.com.au).
Last weekend saw the demolition of the old kitchen in the North Room, painting, general maintenance and extensive ground works (mowing, slashing, weeding and tending of the plantings around the Shelter). The trail crews continued the never-ending job of pole/marker maintenance, rubbish collection and an audit of work required over the remained of the summer. No one needed extra fitness training after these big days, but a some finished off with a good bike ride anyway. And the fishers amongst us found a final bit of energy to cast a few lines.
Work Party #2 is planned to include snow fence maintenance, rock removal and Nordic Shelter projects (all dependent on weather, etc).
Thanks to all of the workers (about 20 each day, with a number of first-timers), NPWS and Canberra Alpine Club. It was a productive weekend and great company.

Nordic Shelter - Donation Form
As always, the Nordic Shelter depends on volunteers and donors to provide the services that it does to the XC community. Winter 2014 was a successful one from every angle - many thanks to the individuals, clubs and organisations that donated time, funds and other resources. Volunteers put up their hands and enough funds were donated and raised to establish an ambitious maintenance plan for this summer and maybe the next. More funds and more volunteers are always needed and appreciated - if you can help out in any way, please let us know (hint, a donation form is attached below).

Mogul Skis for 2015
Now that life is returning to normal, it’s time to think about how your ski equipment has fared.
Idone Australia – will be placing orders for ski equipment in April for arrival in October ready for your next trip overseas. Some of the order may arrive in time for our winter but we can NOT rely on this. If you know you need, or you think you might need new skis, bindings or poles before you travel overseas again please order NOW to avoid disappointment next November.
