2014 NSW Junior Mogul Series Now Open!Entry for the NSW Junior Moguls Series is now open - link https://regonline.activeglobal.com/2014nswjuniormogulseries The event will be held over two days on the 2nd and 3rd of August and entry is available to anyone under the age of 19 who can ski bumps. If you would like to enter and are unsure about the skill level required then please contact Daniel Bosco at daniel.bosco@bluey.com.au. If you are interested in volunteering to assist with the event then please contact Biing Yin at biing.yin1@gmail.com. The event is being run together by Perisher and NSW Freestyle, NSW Freestyle has a Team app which will be used to distribute information to coordinate events. 2014 NSWACT Alpine Rising Stars AwardNSWACT Alpine, Perisher Winter Sports Club and Thredbo Ski Racing Club have combined again this season to offer this exciting Award to talented Interschool racers without previous race club experience. 9 Alpine racers from Division 3, 4 or 5 across the Sydney, Northern or Southern/ACT regions will be selected for this year’s Alpine Rising Stars. |

NSWACT Alpine Thin Air Fun RunNSWACT Alpine held the inaugural Thin Air Fun Run on Sunday 6th July around Lake Crackenback Resort. Despite changes to the date and venue due to this year’s great snowfalls, there were over 50 entrants, with 3 courses around the beautiful Lake Crackenback. 1.3, 2.6 and 5.2 kms followed by a BBQ and prize giving. Much fun was had by all Thank you to all our sponsors including SkiJapan.com, and Peak Performance. Thanks also goes to Fitness First, Harros, Mumm Champagne and Mid Express Bistro at Perisher for donating the generous prizes. Due to the success of this event, we hope to hold it again next year making it bigger and better incorporating the two NSW race clubs, Perisher Winter Sports Club and Thredbo Ski Race Club members along with interschool competitor, parents and local community members. All funds raised go to supporting NSWACT Alpine programs and initiatives, such as fitness training, Rising Stars and athlete competition grants. |

Snowboard Emerging Talent AwardThe Perisher Winter Sports Club has joined forces with NSW Interschools and NSW Snowsports to offer this exciting Award to talented Interschools riders without previous Snowboard Club experience. 6 Snowboarders from Divisions 4 or 5 across the Travelplan Ski Sydney, Travelplan Ski Northern NSW or Subaru ACT-Southern Interschools Championships will be selected for the first ever Snowboard Emerging Talent Award. |

Introducing the Australian Jnr XC Championships at Perisher Nordic TrailsThe Ski Australia Cross Country National Discipline Committee (SAXC) has introduced a stand-alone Australian Junior Cross Country Championships event to be held at Perisher on the weekend of 26th and 27th July. The event will closely follow the format of the 2015 World Junior Championships and 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games. |

Victorian Biathlon Championships....... Success for NSWThere were some very strong results especially in the U19 Girls and Open Men with recently qualified IBU athlete Damon Morton (18) smashing the open men’s field by 8 mins.22, despite racing up two divisions. His sister Darcie (14) came first in the U19 female 4.5km sprint with team mate Gabi Hawkins (15) taking the honours on Sunday in the 4.5km Pursuit. Both girls were racing up a division in order to indicate their interest in attending 2015 Biathlon World Junior Championships. |
