NSW Freestyle - Mogul Ski Orders for 2014This year NSW Freestyle will assist its members by placing a group order for mogul skis. Mogul skis are generally not available in Australia through retail outlets and can be difficult to source for some families. We have therefore aligned ourselves with Hart and iDone skis to provide access and better value for members. Hart and iDone have generously made a range of skis available for all levels of moguls skiers ranging from Division 5 Interschools through to International competitors at specially discounted prices. The differences between a mogul ski and an alpine ski include longer radius, softer tips and tails, narrower under foot and shorter length. Often athletes are forced to ride on skis that are either too long, too stiff or too wide putting them at a disadvantage to other competitors in the moguls. By ordering the skis through NSW Snowsports you will also receive advice on the best type of ski for the athletes ability, the correct length selection and the best available pricing. All sales will be supported by the ski manufacturer. |

SSA Futures - X-Country Level '1' Dryland Training CourseDate: 14th/15th June 2014 Have you ever fancied yourself as an XC coach? Or do you just want another angle to improve your own skiing form and training methods? An XC Coach Level 1 module is being held on the weekend of June 14 -15 in Canberra. Allison McArdle, who will be running the course, has described the overall course like this: "The Level 1 course requires 3 full days of face to face tuition with the addition of completing the ASC Online principles which takes approximately 6 hours. As for how much time is required to complete the work sheets and practical assessments I couldn't really say as it's entirely individually based. I would imagine it is approx 10 additional hours work." The third day of face to face will be on snow and could be either a full day or 2 x 1/2 days. To register your expression of interest and get more information, please contact Allison before April 30 at allison.c.stoddart@gmail.com A flyer and further information will be provided on the SSA website in due course. |
