NSW Snowsports Annual General Meeting Update
The NSW Snowsports 2013 Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 17th of March 2013.
With twenty-two people in attendance, the board reflected on the success of 2012 for the Association, Disciplines, and Athletes.
The NSW Snowsports Chairman, Andrew Wenham stepped down after a six-years tenure. Andrew extended thanks to the past and present directors and volunteers for their support of the Association.
Steve Cooper thanked Andrew for his time and commitment has invaluable to Snowsports. He stated the Association has grown from strength to strength during Andrew’s leadership. Andrew will be sadly missed by all directors and Snowsports Volunteers alike.
NSW Snowsports would like to welcome Toni Hulme as the new chair. Toni has been a director on the NSW Snowsports Board for the past 5 years. Her experience and knowledge will be an asset to the Association. NSW Snowsports looks forward to continue growth under her leadership.
NSW Snowsports Club Membership and Insurance Now Available!
NSW Snowsports is pleased to continue to provide insurance cover available through Calliden Australia Ltd.
Our 2013-2014 Policies Includes:
- “All-States” Broadform Liability Insurance for Public Risk for your Association or Club.
With Optional:
- Directors and Officers Liability Insurance (D&O)
- Coach's Professional Indemnity Insurance (CPT)
The Public Risk policy has been specifically designed to meet the needs of clubs involved with snowsports at affordable prices and covers activities such as sanctioned events. Volunteers, officials, and participants are also covered for public liability under this policy.

Alpine & SX Strength & Conditioning Clinic - Registrations Now Open
26th-28th April, Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen
A residential two and a half day strength and conditioning camp is being organised for the 26th - 28th April at the Sydney Academy of Sport facility at Narrabeen led by Manfred Wolscher.
The camp is open to all registered Alpine athletes (including Skier X) from Children (born 2003 onwards) to FIS age competitors.
There will be separate programs for Children and Junior/Open age groups.

An SSA Cross Country Futures Camps is to be held in both Sydney and Canberra during May. This is a prelimiary announcement with further details to follow:

Perisher Cross Country Work Parties!PERISHER XC WORK PARTIES - THE FIRST WEEKENDS IN APRIL AND MAY The last two work parties for 2013 and still lots to do! Two weeks ago saw the NSW Team and Squad members, parents and coaches hard at work digging trenches for cables and other useful jobs around the Nordic Shelter. This extra Work Party was part of their Training and Presentations Weekend. The kids were enthusiastic and it is amazing what a lot of people can accomplish in a short time! It was also a great opportunity for them to see what is under the snow and the kind of work that is done over the summer to provide the facilities that they use all winter. |
