Guides for APC Blind Athletes

The Australian Paralympic Committee, Alpine Ski Team is currently looking for suitable applicants to fill the role of guide for visually impaired skiers.

Guides are required for a number of visually impaired skiers ranging from beginners to elite.

To be a guide you need to be a strong skier, enjoy working as part of a team and have the desire to ski fast! Knowledge of ski racing is a bonus, but not necessary. Commitment level varies depending on the level of athlete.

The group trains out of both Thredbo and Perisher and usually does single week or 10 day camps.  There may also be potential for weekend work with some skiers.
