NSWACT Alpine Rising Star 2012 Award Winners! NSWACT Alpine, Perisher Winter Sports Club and Thredbo Ski Racing Club have combined again this season to offer this exciting Award to talented interschools racers without previous race club experience. 9 Alpine racers from Divisions 4 or 5 across the Sydney, Northern NSW and ACT/Southern NSW regions have been selected. |

NSW BiathlonNSW Biathlon Blitz AUS XC Championships The first of the Australian Championships XC races were held at Perisher last weekend with NSW Biathletes showcasing their talent by taking a number of the AUS XC titles on offer. In the Open Men, Olympic Biathlete Alex Almoukov claimed the Freestyle Sprint on Saturday and finished 3rd in the 10km Classic on Sunday. In the Open Women, 17year old Lucy Glanville finished 2nd behind 2010 Olympian Esther Bottomley in the Women’s Freestyle Sprint and was 2nd Australian home in the 5km Classic. Glanville however continued to dominate the Junior Women winning both titles on both days and is well set to claim her No 1 Junior Australian XC ranking for the 5th year in a row. |

NSW Athletes Blitz AUS XC Champsionships! The first of the Australian Championships XC races were held at Perisher last weekend with NSWXC Skiers and Biathletes taking a number of the AUS titles on offer. In the Open Men, Olympic Biathlete Alex Almoukov claimed the Freestyle Sprint on Saturday, with aspiring 2014 Sochi Olympian, Callum Watson, claiming the 10km Classic title on Sunday. |

NSWIS NewsCoaching Opportunities from NSWIS Snowsports Programs Calling all Coaches! A fantastic opportunity is being offered to regional and club level Snowsports coaches to participate in 3 coaching workshops to be offered by experts from the NSWIS Winter Snowsports program. The workshops will be conducted during the 2012 domestic season and will cover: 1. Strength and Conditioning 2. Psychology 3. Nutrition The Strength & Conditioning workshop will be hosted by John Marsden who is our Senior Sports Scientist in Winter Sports; The Psychology workshop will be conducted by Ferry Lee from NSWIS and the Nutrition workshop will be hosted via live meeting by Sally Walker from NSWIS. |
