2012 NSW Membership and Discipline Registration is now available for new and renewing members.

Selection Criteria for the 2013 NSWACT Alpine Teams

The selection criteria for the NSWACT Alpine Teams has been revised for 2013.

NSWACT State Alpine Team Presentation and Dinner

 

Members of the NSWACT State Alpine team and their families met in Jindabyne during the school holidays for presentation of certificates and jackets to team members followed by a group dinner.

Brad Wall, National Alpine Program Director presented the jackets and an enjoyable evening was had by all attending. 

 

2012 NSWACT Rising Star Awards

NSW ACT Alpine, Perisher Winter Sports Club and Thredbo Ski Racing Club have combined again this season to offer this exciting Award to talented Interschool racers without previous race club experience.

Nine Alpine racers from Division 3, 4 or 5 across the Sydney, Northern or Southern/ACT regions will be selected for this year's Alpine Rising Stars Award.

NSW Biathlon

NSW Biathlon Athletes Perform well at ACT/NSW Distance Races

With the first of the AUS Championship biathlon races being held in Hotham this weekend, NSW Biathletes tested their form at the NSW/ACT XC races held last weekend. Some very good results were achieved with Damon Morton, Hamish Roberts and Alex Lewis all showing good form and finishing 1,2 and 3 in their age group on both days of racing. Lucy Glanville was able to lead the NSW female biathletes into winning form, placing first in both Junior U20 races and 2nd overall behind Canadian World Cup skier Brooke Darlington.

NSW XC Online Entry System Now Open!

The 2012 XC on-line entry system for a number of events in Perisher Valley is up and running.

Cross Country Race Season Opens!

Racing began this weekend for NSWXC athletes with the NSW and ACT Distance Championships taking place. NSWXC athletes performed very well and were able to capitalize on their 8 days of school holiday training to produce some strong and promising results for the upcoming AUS Cross Country National Team selection races. Their strong results were a tribute to the quality of training and the athlete focus during the school holiday program and many thanks to our dedicated coaches.

Coaching Opportunities from NSWIS Snowsports Programs

Calling all Coaches! A fantastic opportunity is being offered to regional and club level Snowsports coaches to participate in 3 coaching workshops to be offered by experts from the NSWIS Winter Snowsports program. The workshops will be conducted during the 2012 domestic season and will cover: 

1.       Strength and Conditioning

2.       Psychology

3.       Nutrition

The Strength & Conditioning workshop will be hosted by John Marsden who is our Senior Sports Scientist in Winter Sports; The Psychology workshop will be conducted by Ferry Lee from NSWIS and the Nutrition workshop will be hosted via live meeting by Sally Walker from NSWIS.
