NSW Alpine - General Meeting Thursday 5th July

Register now!
The General meeting will be followed at 7pm by the Level 1 Alpine officials training course. If you are a volunteer at Interschools, SSA or FIS races and would like to attend the course to learn about race rules, roles and responsibilities, please register by emailing nswalpine@live.com The 2 hour accredited course is free of charge.
Alpine Officials Training Courses - Level 1 Accreditation
This officially recognised training course is for parents, teachers, coaches and volunteers who may be assisting at Interschool, Club, SSA or FIS Alpine races.
The 2 hr course covers the role of the official, race safety, race rules, race organisation, time keeping and use of radio communications. It is aimed at both new volunteers and those who accreditation has expired and need a refresher course (those accredited prior to 2008.

2012 NSWACT Rising Star Awards
NSW ACT Alpine, Perisher Winter Sports Club and Thredbo Ski Racing Club have combined again this season to offer this exciting Award to talented Interschool racers without previous race club experience.
Nine Alpine racers from Division 3, 4 or 5 across the Sydney, Northern or Southern/ACT regions will be selected for this year's Alpine Rising Stars Award.
NSW Freestyle
SSA Future - 'Athlete of the Future Moguls Development Camp'
The SSA Futures Moguls Development Camp dates for 2012 are Friday 3rd August – Sunday 5th August. 20 participants will be invited to attend the camp. Selection is based on Division 3 & 4 athletes’ performance and results in the Regional Interschool competitions. Peter Topalovic ‘Toppa’ (NSWIS/SSA National Freestyle Moguls Head Coach) will be at each regional event to select the promising young athletes.
The camp’s structure is an intense weekend of what’s it like to train, compete and live like an elite athlete. The selected young athletes will have On Snow training by Toppa (NSWIS/SSA National Freestyle Moguls Head Coach) and his NSWIS/SSA National Freestyle Mogul program athletes. Anthony Khoury (NSWIS/SSA National Freestyle Moguls Acrobatic Coach) will put the athletes through a session on trampoline and acrobatics similar to session’s elite athlete’s experience.
The camp is run out of Jindabyne Sport and Recreation centre and all athletes are provided with accommodation, food and transport to and from Perisher Ski resort. On Sunday athletes will compete in the NSW Junior Moguls series alongside some of the best young athletes in NSW.
The SSA Futures ‘Athlete of the Future’ Camp is a highly competitive camp and the announcement of invitations to the camp will be made at each Regional Interschool competition presentation. Results are important but Toppa will also be looking at inviting athletes that he believes has technique and skiing skill to make in the sport of Moguls. It could be YOU.

NSW XC Online Entry System Now Open!
The 2012 XC on-line entry system for a number of events in Perisher Valley is up and running.
XC Grooming Report
The daily XC Grooming Report is now available on the NSW Snowsports Webiste.
On Snow Training
For 2012, NSWXC offers up to 8 days of on-snow training to its Team and Squad members during the July school holidays. The cost of on-snow training is included in the membership fee paid by athletes to join the NSWXC Team or Squad. Training is conducted in and around the Perisher Nordic Centre and taken by the NSWXC panel of coaches which includes qualified state and national level coaches and also senior members of the Australian XC Team. Associate membership to the NSWXC Squad is available for new athletes who wish to try the on-snow progam.
