Club Membership and Insurance
NSW Snowsports is pleased to continue to provide insurance cover available through Calliden Australia Ltd.
Our 2012-2013 Policies Includes:
- “All-States” Broadform Liability Insurance for Public Risk for your Association or Club.
With Optional:
- Directors and Officers Liability Insurance (D&O)
- Coach's Professional Indemnity Insurance (CPT)
The Public Risk policy has been specifically designed to meet the needs of clubs involved with snowsports at affordable prices and covers activities such as sanctioned events. Volunteers, officials, and participants are also covered for public liability under this policy.
Your Club’s membership and insurance cover/s for the period 1 May 2012 to 1 May 2013.

SSA Futures Programs
SSA Futures is back for 2012, with a series of programs planned for the pre-domestic Australian winter. Programs will be run in Sydney, Melbourne and the SSA Water Ramp Facility in Lillydale.
For your calendar the current Futures schedule is as follows:
- May 5th: Sydney Acrobatics/ Diving Session
- May 12th: Sydney Acrobatics/ Diving Session
- May 19th: Sydney Acrobatics/ Skateboarding Session
Program information and registration is available now through the SSA Website for the two Water Ramp programs. Information on the Acrobatics sessions will be available shortly.

Biathlon in NSW 'Shoots' Ahead
NSW Biathlon recently held its first Training Camp at its new home at the Hornsby Rifle Range in Sydney’s north. The Training Camp was led by NSW state coach, Cameron Morton (2006 Australian Olympic Biathlete) and held in conjunction with the training of its “sister” association – NSW X-Country which ensured athletes were exposed to dry-land cross country ski training and well as receiving their very necessary biathlon shooting training.

Work Party
Reminder about the Perisher Nordic Shelter work party being held on the weekend of May 5 and 6.
Please contact Peter Cunningham (Peter.Cunningham@essentialenergy.com.au or phone on 0411129363) if you plan to attend. Important - let PC know ASAP if you require accommodation at Canberra Alpine Club for the weekend (thanks again CAC).
The installation of the northern end windows has been completed. Tasks for the weekend will include removing rubbish and cleaning up the area around the shelter. Alan Civil will be managing the final touches to the inside of the window installation e.g. preparation and painting of internal timber and gyprock. Other work party activities will include pruning, installing poles on touring trails in Perisher and Smiggins (including Pipers), covering trail bridges, installation of signs and finishing snow fencing sections being installed before the work party.
Useful equipment for the weekend – gloves, strong secateurs, a heavy-duty vacuum cleaner (the one that lives in the Nordic Shelter is being serviced).
Roller Skis
The NSW XC Team and Squad have a request – does anyone have spare roller skis that are gathering dust in a cupboard somewhere? There is a group of enthusiastic young skiers who would love to give them a workout. Please get in touch with me at this address if you have a pair that you can loan or do without.
XC Instructor and Coaches Courses
A number of XC Coach and XC Instructor qualification courses will be offered this winter. APSI will be conducting various levels of instructor courses and depending on the interest a Coach level 1 may be conducted in NSW by Finn Marsland. (A coach level 1 is being conducted in VIC this winter) Please contact Peter Cunningham (Peter.Cunningham@essentialenergy.com.au or phone on 0411129363) soon to lodge an expression of interest. Details of courses will be circulated when available

NSW Interschools
25th Anniversary Celebration - 27th of October 2012
NSW Interschools Snowsports Championships is celebrating its 25th Year in 2012. During the season we will be acknowledging schools, volunteers and resort staff who have been with us from the beginning.
After the season we will be holding a celebration in Sydney on October 27th. Join us on the Blue Room, as we cruise the Sydney Harbour and reminisce about Interschools. Tickets will be available shortly.
